ScienceScape 2024

The College of Science is excited to host ScienceScape summer residential camp! Let’s partner together to foster the passion for science in you or your camper. Applications will open in mid-February for ScienceScape which will be held June 23-27, 2024 for rising 7th and 8th graders. Keep learning and exploring!

ScienceScape is sponsored by Women in Science Program within the College of Science Diversity at Purdue University.

Rising 7th and 8th graders will experience hands on learning in an academic setting. Selected students are expected to actively participate in learning, researching and presenting, while making new friends and having fun!

Camp Information

ScienceScape 2024 will be held June 23-27, 2024. The application process is very competitive and applicants (who will be entering grades 7 or 8 in the Fall of 2024) will be notified of the review committee's decision by early May. The Registration fee is $400, which includes 4 nights in an air-conditioned residence hall, meals, snacks, labs, and activities. The full $400 payment is due within two weeks of acceptance. Accepted applicants will receive registration and other information forms to complete.

Application

Student Application and Teacher Recommendation

Applications will open in mid-February. In order for an application to be complete, both a student application and a teacher recommendation (science teacher preferred) must be properly submitted. Applicants are required to write a Statement of Interest essay, which will be submitted with a required teacher recommendation. All details are included as part of the application. The deadline for submission of student applications is Friday, April 19, 2024 at 5:00pm. Completion by the teacher of the Teacher's Recommendation Survey, including the attachment of the student essay, is required by Friday, April 26, 2024. Notices will be sent to applicants as to the decision of the review committee by Friday, May 3, 2024 at 5:00pm.
