Graduate WISP

The Women in Science Program serves and develops students who identify as women, non-binary individuals, and male advocates within the College of Science throughout their graduate and post-doc studies. WISP is organized by fellow female graduate students and is designed to offer strategies for personal and professional success in graduate school and career planning within science-based and life-skills topics during monthly dinner events. The program offers networking opportunities to interact with professional women in science, including both the invited speakers and the other graduate students within the College of Science and Interdisciplinary PULSe. WISP mentoring groups consist of students within the same department who interact during the meetings and encourage each other beyond.

Each semester, Women in Science Program and College of Science (CoS) departments provide $1,000 travel grants to students in the CoS. Travel grants have been created to narrow the gender gap for conference participation for soon to be graduates. This grant is a one-time only award.

Please do not apply if you have received a travel grant previously through your department or WISP

Fall travel grant applications will be available in mid-September and due the last Friday in October by 4pm. Travel must occur between December 1 and August 1 to be eligible. Spring travel grant applications will be available in mid-February and due on the Friday before Spring Break in March by 4pm. Spring travel must occur between May 1 and January 1.
