Jackie Magno

"I have been fortunate to be able to leverage the analytical skills and the business acumen that I developed in Purdue's challenging and nurturing environment."
In her role as operating committee chair and managing director for Golden Seeds Silicon Valley, Jackie Magno is an active angel investor who empowers talented women entrepreneurs and supports companies that transform and improve our world.
At Golden Seeds, an investment firm that pursues gender diversity and financial results by investing in early-stage, women-led companies, Magno has played a critical role in increasing the percentage of women entrepreneurs who receive start-up capital. Through her roles in deal sourcing and deal selection, she has helped the company increase that percentage from under 3% in 2005 when the company was founded, to 22% in 2016.
Before she joined Golden Seeds, Magno spent 20 years in executive and leadership roles at SAP, Business Objects, GE Healthcare, Novell, and IBM. Magno has an outstanding track record of implementing new ideas, accelerating change, and driving major business transformations to enable growth and productivity gains. Her extensive experience in corporate integrations, change management, and information systems has been celebrated through many national awards and honors. Most recently, she was elected to be a 2018 fellow of the Stanford Distinguished Careers Institute.
Magno’s many professional memberships and volunteer activities include being a mentor for the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative and a being mentor for the Silicon Valley Boilermaker Innovation Group — an allvolunteer organization of Silicon Valley Purdue alumni who support the creation of new technology ventures in the Purdue community.
