Access Google Apps

Instructions for logging into Google Apps:

1. Click on or paste this link into your browser: http://partnerpage.google.com/science.purdue.edu?hl=en
2. Enter the username and password you were provided with at the first College of Science steering committee meeting. It is on a white printout. It is NOT your career account.
3. You will be required to change your password.
4. To log in for the first time, fill out the information on the login screen and accept the rules.
5. To see the documents, click on the title “Google Docs” on your main screen. DO NOT click on the words “sign in to Google Docs.” Click on the title.
6. If you get an error message at any time, please close out of your browser, open it back up, and try signing in again.
7. If you still experience problems, please e-mail azamin@purdue.edu. Please copy the error message and paste it into the e-mail.

To edit documents:

1. To see the documents, click on the title “Google Docs.”
2. The documents screen will come up and display all documents that are shared with you.
3. Click on a document to view or edit.
4. Some documents are for viewing only. If this is the case, you will not be able to edit it.
5. To edit a document that is editable, click on the document you wish to edit.
6. The editing works almost exactly like a word processing program. The “Insert” button near the top left allows you to insert a comment in the same way that Word’s track changes does.
7. Click on “Save” at the top right when you are done.
8. Close out of the window or program as you normally would.

Logging in for the first time? Remember that your password is temporary. Steering Committee members were provided with a page with this information and their temporary password at the first meeting.

Go to the Strategic Planning Google Apps Site (login and password required)

Remember to click on the title of the area you wish to visit!
